This is a great place to start into the world of AKC obedience and help your dog realize its full potential by competing. AKC Obedience Trials demonstrate the usefulness of the dog as a companion to man, and trials showcase dogs that have been trained to behave well in the home, in public places, and around other dogs.

3. Sit/Stand for Exam

5. Sit stay, down stay
6. Beginning of off-leash heeling
Prerequisites: Team must complete a Canine Good Citizen (or equivalent) class, have solid sit, down, & stay commands, have a reliable recall, and be good working closely around other dogs, or with instructor approval.
