Judith Guthrie is a dog trainer who specializes in professional detection dogs and sport scent work. She is a Judge for NACSW, AKC, and USCSS. She enjoys all aspects of training and behavior across multiple species and disciplines. Figuring out how to break down any behavior to its base components and molding those components into the behavioral goal she is working for is one of things she enjoys most.
She was raised around working dogs. Her foundational experiences with dogs included multiple police and search & rescue dogs. This gave her early experience with the unique perspective of what working dogs need versus companion dogs, and then figuring out how to train for each dogs needs individually.
Judith has participated in rally, agility, obedience, trick training, urban mushing, scent work, service dog training, therapy dog training, and protection sports among others.
Currently she runs Dark Moon Farms and Kennels LLC and Nose Dogs Detection Services, a detection and service dog training facility. Through Nose Dogs Judith offers: trained & prospective detection dogs for sale, detection dog handling courses, workshops, certifications, companion dogs (trained, untrained, and/or titled), and a list of detection services for private individuals and businesses.
