Why She Trains

I have trained horses for many years, but have always had dogs as companions. Even when they weren’t being shown, they’ve always been trained. After starting in my first obedience class I was in awe of the bond it created between my dog and myself. Dogs love to please – they’re called “Man’s Best Friend” for a reason! It’s our job as trainers to just show our dogs what we want from them. My dad always said, “It costs the same to feed a good dog as it does to feed a bad dog. You may as well make them pleasant to be around!”
